Fuel, available as both a CD and the old, traditional LP format.  This should not be confused with a newer band heard on radio lately, also called Fuel.  The Fuel we’re referring to comes to us from the ’80s, and featured powerful songs built on the Fugazi foundation.  Anything by this group is great.

Jawbreaker is a group that sang and played beautiful, angst-ridden songs that we would categorize as pop-punk. Their songs featured deep, incisive words that cut to the listener’s soul.  They also had a good sense of when it’s time to relax the music and when it’s time to build it up, and when it’s time to blast at full power.

Samiam had an untitled 1990 album by New Red Archives that was modeled after Jawbreaker, and yet more honest in its lyrics.

Ignition was a band that provided a lot of ground-breaking music from the mid ’80s to about 1989.
